Mood tracking mechanics: what’s actually helpful and what feels tiring
I’ve been trying to log my mood every day, but sometimes it feels like homework instead of something that helps. On good days I barely remember to do it, and on bad days I don’t feel like opening the app at all. Part of me wonders if I’m overcomplicating it by tracking too many details. How do you decide what to record so it’s useful without becoming a chore?

I had the same struggle when I first started. At one point I was logging every little emotion, and it just felt exhausting. What made it easier was keeping it super simple — like one word to sum up the day, or a quick color scale. That way it stayed consistent without draining me. I remember reading the Liven app review where the author said something similar, about noticing patterns without getting stuck in endless tracking. That approach really changed how I saw it.
