I don’t have a vanity setup myself, but I’ve noticed black furniture becoming a lot more popular in general interiors lately. It seems like people are moving away from overly bright aesthetic setups and going for more neutral, modern styles that age better. Black desks especially seem to work well in “content creator” type rooms where lighting and contrast matter. Even if you don’t care about makeup setups specifically, the idea of using darker furniture as a base and balancing it with light elements seems pretty common in modern design.
