Meet The TOP 12 Long Snappers - Blog

Going to Vegas in January for underclassmen Long Snappers means several things: seeing what all of the commotion is about, doing your absolute best, getting your ranking solidified, watching in awe at the top seniors that you have read so much about and, of course, making the exclusive TOP 12 list! The TOP 12 is chosen from underclassmen in January and they are simply the best of the best in January. They are the ones that snap the hardest, the most accurate, have the best blocking and are able to handle the pressure of the entire weekend. You make this list and you are on way to greatness....if you keep working as hard and smart as you did to make it. 

The TOP 12 Long Snappers of January will be listed below. They are invited to exclusive TOP 12 and EVENT ELITE camp this summer. You are only allowed to attend this camp if you prove yourself at one of our Vegas Events (January or May). Therefore, in May, I will be choosing the EVENT ELITE. They will be the best of the best in May and combine with the TOP 12 during the summer for the invite only camp. Some simply aren't ready for January Vegas and need May to make a name for themselves. This happens. I know it. One particular instance would be Jonathan Weeks. He came in January, was not ready, worked his tail off and came back to dominate May. FYI: Jonathan Weeks in now doing this for his job. Side note: after reading his bio on that page, try to figure out what special teams camp the coach found out about him:)

Think about this....come this summer...will you be reading daily about the TOP 12 and EVENT ELITE camp this summer or will you be participating? MAKE IT HAPPEN. ENOUGH EXCUSES. See you in May. PROVE YOURSELF!!!

TOP 12 Long Snappers - 2012

After watching over 90 Underclassmen in Las Vegas at the 10th Annual Event a week and a half ago, here are the Long Snappers that have been selected to the exclusive TOP 12 Camp! The TOP 12 and EVENT ELITE Camp is the only true invite only camp in the country. You must perform well at one of our Vegas Events in order to be selected by me. The next opportunity is the 10th Annual National Spring Snapping Event in Las Vegas on May 12-13, 2012. You can look at THIS to see exactly what I am looking for in selections of the Long Snappers.

Here is some information regarding this camp pulled right off the FAQ section of the website: 

TOP 12 & EVENT ELITE CAMP 
Q: DO I HAVE TO BE INVITED TO ATTEND THIS CAMP? 
A: YES!!!! THIS IS THE ONLY CAMP WHERE YOU MUST BE INVITED? 

Q: WHAT IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT THIS CAMP? 
A: IT IS THE HIGHEST LEVEL CAMP IN THE COUNTRY. ONLY THE BEST OF THE BEST ARE EVEN INVITED TO THIS CAMP. THE PERCENTAGE OF KICKERS, PUNTERS AND LONG SNAPPERS THAT HAVE ATTENDED THIS CAMP AND GONE ON TO PLAY COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS WELL OVER 90%. DAILY RESULTS ARE POSTED ON THE WEBSITE AND ON SCOUT.COM 

Q: HOW DO I GET INVITED TO THIS CAMP? 
A: YOU MUST PERFORM EXTREMELY WELL AT ONE OF THE VEGAS EVENTS? 

Q: WHO IS ELIGIBLE? 
A: ALL UNDERCLASSMEN. YES, FIRST YEAR JC ATHLETES ARE ALLOWED. 

Q: HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE CHOSEN FOR THIS CAMP? 
A: 12 KICKERS/PUNTERS AND 12 LONG SNAPPERS IN JANUARY. NUMBER VARIES IN MAY DEPENDING ON TALENT LEVEL. IT COULD BE ONE, IT COULD BE TEN or IT COULD BE MORE

Q: I AM A LITTLE CONFUSED BY THE TITLE, IT IS ONE OR TWO CAMPS? 
A: ONE. THE TOP 12 IS CHOSEN IN JANUARY AND THE EVENT ELITE IS CHOSEN IN MAY. TOGETHER, THEY FORM THE TOP 12 AND EVENT ELITE CAMP IN THE SUMMER.

Q: IS THIS CAMP OPEN TO THE PUBLIC? 
A: YES...FOR VIEWING ONLY. IF YOU ARE NOT CHOSEN, YOU CANNOT COME AND PARTICIPATE IN THE CAMP. 

Q: HOW DO I KNOW IF MADE THIS CAMP? 
A: TOP 12 KICKERS, PUNTERS AND LONG SNAPPER ARE NOTIFIED APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS AFTER JANUARY VEGAS. EVENT ELITE KICKERS, PUNTERS AND LONG SNAPPERS ARE NOTIFIED APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS AFTER MAY VEGAS EVENT.

Signing Day - Rubio Blog

One week from today, high school football players around the country will be signing on the dotted line to play for their respective schools. It is a great time of the year for all involved. It is Signing Day. It is covered by major sports affiliates and it begins the process of which college will dominate tomorrow with the stellar high school athletes of today.

With all the hoopla, comes questions....let me clear some things up for everyone. These are all from questions I have received over the years. Here you go and be sure to reference back to THIS blog I wrote about the difference between a full ride, a preferred walk-on and a standard walk-on:
